COVID-19 Stimulus Package

Information is being fed to all of us at an alarmingly fast rate as the stimulus package is being implemented throughout the country. This is great news for bankers working hard to help customers during this unprecedented time. As a trusted partner, BBOK is here to support you in these efforts. Under BBOK’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) support, banks can find assistance with addressing loan requests from directors or providing extra resources to process SBA applications. BBOK is an approved lender and can participate the loan with 90% of the proceeds returned to your bank.

In order for us to best communicate with you, we are sending updates as needed via email and also posting them on a COVID-19 tab on bbok.com. If you haven’t been receiving these updates or if there is someone on your staff you would like included in our email database, please contact Amanda Williams at awilliams@bbok.com. While we are trying our best to not inundate you with information you are receiving from other sources, know that we are on the front lines with you, fully staffed and ready to help Kansas banks weather this pandemic.

Around the Bank

There continues to be many moving parts (and bodies) as BBOK adheres to the social distancing guidance to keep everyone healthy and safe while running our bank as efficiently and close to normal as possible.

Kudos to the IT team for their extra efforts to ensure everyone gets moved (and sometimes moved again) and stays connected. If you haven’t heard from Rachel Walcher or Ashley Snavely lately, it’s because they’ve temporarily relocated to the loan department – and they are a welcome addition! The loan department and relationship managers are in high gear helping our bank customers navigate the PPP.

Electronic banking is nearly 100% remote and taking care of customers efficiently and securely. Finance is mostly remote and remains busy with Fed Funds, safekeeping and accounting. Members of the card department, working remotely or practicing social distancing, are also committed to completing several exciting projects.

The loan review team hasn’t missed a beat as they conduct loan reviews with remote access.

The front desk and Cheryl Warashina are keeping up with everyone’s location changes and directing our customers to the right resources. Peg Baldwin is monitoring the overwhelming number of communications from the regulators and other government entities, helping BBOK navigate this changing environment and at the same time keeping us on track with audits and compliance because times will return to normal, and compliance and accuracy are a must.

As BBOK works through these challenges, we are optimistic that we will be innovative and find opportunities to help our customers in ways we never imagined – now and in the future.
