Harland Clarke and BBOK Partner to Help Banks Grow

As the check industry continues to evolve, so has Harland Clarke. While check printing is still a major part of the business, Harland Clarke’s newest solutions are specifically aimed to help banks gain revenue and reduce expenses. Providing local representation and stellar customer care focused solely on bank customers is where Harland Clarke excels. The relationship between BBOK banks and Harland Clarke continues to be strong because of this shared philosophy.

Through the BBOK network, banks receive comparable pricing to large bank competitors. Working in partnership for the success of Kansas banks has been beneficial to the two companies, but especially to customers. Brandon Jameson, account executive for Harland Clarke says that 50 percent of BBOK banks are doing business with Harland Clarke and that number is growing daily due to competitors focusing on direct-to-consumer solutions.

“We’ve added 25 Kansas banks in the past three years,” says Jameson.  “Our desire is for banks of all sizes to have competitive solutions and pricing. Any bank that has allowed us to bid on the process, regardless if they switch to Harland Clarke or not, gets a better check program, and customers get better solutions. When we help banks succeed, we succeed.”

Harland Clarke’s solutions are structured to help banks grow revenue, reduce expenses and become their customers’ primary financial institution. Kansas representatives, Jameson and Ryan Pierce, visit banks on a regular basis, listening to concerns and providing solutions for those challenges. This has led to new solutions which are more digital in nature. One recurring concern for banks is the hesitancy of customers to switch their main deposit accounts due to the difficulty of transferring electronic transactions. Harland Clarke partnered with ClickSwitch, which makes switching checking accounts easy. This digital switch kit transfers all electronic, ACH and government transactions in about 10 minutes through a bank-branded website.

Other conveniences Harland Clarke has added to its offerings include instant issue debit cards, official document printing, statements and email marketing. “Like BBOK, Harland Clarke’s solutions are designed to work with banks, not with bank customers,” adds Jameson. “Our goal is to use data, analytics and communication channels to help banks become top of wallet for their customers.”
